Hyaluronidase is made of enzymes that catalyse the degradation of hyaluronic acid (HA). Hyaluronidase reverses hyaluronic acid based dermal filler procedures by breaking down its content and dissolving the filler completely.
Performing a hyaluronidase Ovine allergy test:
Perform a patch test on patients: Clean the skin and mark out the test area. Inject Hyaluronidase subcutaneously and leave for 20 minutes to assess allergic reactions. Erythema following the injection of Hyaluronidase is normal. If there are signs of urticaria or allergy, treatment with hyaluronidase is contra-indicated.
